The 2023 Fencing World Championship will conducted from July 22 to July 30, 2023. After a 12-year absence, the World Championship is returning to Italy, and Milan is preparing to host it.

At this year’s competition, more than 1200 fencers from over 160 nations are anticipated to compete. The Fencing World Championship is a crucial step in the qualification process for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Bhavani Devi, a native of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is India’s greatest possibility to win a medal in the 2023 Fencing World Championship in the women’s sabre category.

The world-ranked 28th fencer became the first Indian fencer to earn a medal in the Asian Fencing Championship, which she won earlier this year in Wuxi, China. In the same tournament, she beat defending World Champion Misaki Emura.

Devi has also won two gold medals in the Commonwealth Fencing Championships.
