Bhuvneshwar, 81st all India inter-university athletics championship (women) has been commenced in KIIT Deemed to be University. It is for the first time this championship is happening in Odissa.
The championship has been held under the aegis of the Association of Indian University (AIU), New Delhi, organized by KIIT DU and supported by KISS DU.
This is a four-day event which began on 21st February and will go till 24th February. Dr. Achyuta Samanta, founder of KIIT and KISS inaugurated the ceremony.
More than 2000 athletes, officials, coaches have participated from more than 200 Universities.

Dutee Chand creates a new meet record
Dutee on Tuesday creates a new meet record at the ongoing 81st all-India inter-university athletics championship 2021-2022.
She created a new meet record in the 100-meter finals. She qualified for the 2nd Khelo India University Games. Madhumita Deb of KIIT also came 6th in the race and qualified for the second Khelo India University Games on the second day of the championship.
Priya Mohan ran her personal best to win the 400M title on the second day of the championship.
The 26-year old representing the host KIIT University holds the national record of 11.17 seconds. She achieved this feat clocked last year.
The 18-year-old Mohan, the fastest Indian woman quarter-miler last year, clocked 52.58 seconds, in the finals to better her 52.77 effort. With this effort, she finished fourth in the 2021 world U-20 championship.
