Star India cricketer Virat Kohli has issued a request to his acquaintances, urging them not to seek tickets for the upcoming ODI World Cup, scheduled to commence on October 5. Notably, many cricketers, including 2011 World Cup-winning luminaries like Virender Sehwag, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Yuvraj Singh, have previously encountered challenges with ticket allocation during the last World Cup at home. Consequently, Virat Kohli took to Instagram, advising his friends not to ask for tickets on this occasion. He also recommended that they relish the game from the comfort of their homes if they were unable to secure tickets. Virat wrote on his Instagram story,
“As we approach the World Cup, I would humbly like to let all my friends know to not request me for tickets at all throughout the tournament. Enjoy from your homes pls,”
In the meantime, Anushka Sharma, the renowned Bollywood actress and Kohli’s spouse, also posted a similar update on her social media profile. She humorously advised against asking her for tickets in case Kohli couldn’t respond. Meanwhile, Kohli is scheduled to reunite with the Indian squad on October 4. Team India led by Rohit Sharma will head to Chennai for their season opener against Australia on October 8.
Before this, India’s practice matches had to be canceled because of rainy weather. Consequently, they are presently lacking in match experience, although they should feel optimistic about their prospects, given that the team recently secured a 2-1 victory over Australia in a three-game series. Following their encounter with Australia, the team will journey to Delhi to face Afghanistan on October 11, and on October 14, they will welcome Pakistan to Ahmedabad.
