<p>The two-time Olympic medalist and reigning World Champion in javelin throw, Neeraj Chopra, performed an awe-inspiring throw as he breached the long-awaited 90m mark. This feat was more than just a number for Chopra- it was his Everest. For years, he had been so tantalizingly close, with throws in the high 88s and 89s. But today in Doha, for the first time in history, he realized his dream when he threw 90.23m in his third attempt.</p>
<p>With this feat, Chopra became the 25th athlete to ever breach this elite mark and the third Asian to do so. He now joins a few accomplished throwers, including his coach Jan Zelezny, who has recorded 90+ meter throws. From finding it really challenging, the throw had finally become a reality after a lot of hard work with Chopra, just ecstatic about achieving it.</p>

<p>Despite achieving his dream, the two-time Olympic medalist and reigning World Champion in <a href="https://www.kreedon.com/paralympics-2024-day-5-ajeet-singh-wins-silver-medal-in-javelin-throw-at-the-paris-2024-paralympics-while-sundar-singh-gurjar-takes-the-bronze">javelin throw</a>, Neeraj Chopra, had to settle for second position in the Diamond League. Jakub Vadlejch of the Czech Republic threw an impressive 92m, edging out Chopra. The Indian athlete had started strong, with a throw of 88.4m in the first round, but couldn&#8217;t maintain his lead.</p>
<p>Chopra&#8217;s performance in Doha marked a promising start to the season. He has had a successful history with the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qatar_SC">Qatar Sports Club</a>, finishing second in the Diamond League&#8217;s Doha leg in 2024 and winning in 2023. For the past few years, Chopra has also chosen to begin his athletic season at the Doha competition.</p>
<p>With this achievement, Chopra proves his mettle as one of the world&#8217;s top javelin throwers. He will look to build on this momentum and strive for even greater heights in the future.</p>
