Denmark Open 2019 preview
One of the most prestigious badminton competitions, Denmark Open 2019 kickoff from 15th of October to 20th of October at the Odense Sports Park in Odense, Denmark. Several Indian shuttlers like PV Sindhu, Saina Nehwal, Srikanth Kidambi, and Parupalli Kashyap will feature at the tournament.
Players to WatchÂ
In the 2017 edition of Denmark Open, Kidambi Srikanth defeated Korean player Lee Hyun to win the Men’s Singles event. Having seen a disappointing season, he will be looking to put his mark. Saina Nehwal won the 2012 edition of the Women’s Singles event by defeating German shuttler Juliane Schenk 21-17, 21-8.Â
Legendary shuttler Prakash Padukone was the first Indian to win the Men’s Singles in the 1980 edition of Denmark Open which was held in Copenhagen.Â

About Denmark Open 2019
The Denmark Open was launched in 1936 under the name International Championships of Denmark. After the Danes participated at various competitions throughout Europe, the Badminton Association of Denmark launched their own tournament to bring international players into their competition. In the first installment of the competition, the Danes won all 5 categories of the competition. Denmark Open is the second oldest tournament in the world that holds a lot of prestige and a staggering prize money that amounts to a total of $ 775,000.
