KKR vs DC: Prithvi Shaw (DC) crushed the hopes of KKR in the very first over of the 25th match of the Vivo IPL 2021 in Ahmedabad on Thursday. The DC opener hit his former U-19 India teammate Shivam Mavi for 6 boundaries in the first over. DC was chasing a target of 155.

Delhi Capitals successfully chased the target in just 16.3 overs, with this win, DC returned to the second spot on the IPL 2021 points table. Team DC displaced RCB to the 3rd spot. With 5 wins in 6 matches, team Chennai Super Kings is at the top spot. Kolkata Knight Riders are at 5th spot despite their 4th defeat in the season.

Prithvi Shaw did not stop after collecting 24 runs in the first over. He completely destroyed the KKR’s bowling lineup. KKR bowlers looked clueless against Shaw’s attack. He hit the joint 2nd-fastest 50 by a DC batsman as he brought up the landmark in just 18 balls.

IPL 2021: Highlights- KKR vs DC

Shaw hit 3 maximums and 11 boundaries in his 41-ball 82, he single-handedly destroyed the hopes of KKR players on Thursday. Shaw targeted the two mystery spinners of KKR, Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine as he looked unstoppable in the middle.

His opening partner, Shikhar Dhawan, scored 46 off 47 balls. The duo scored 132 runs in just 13.5 overs, it was their 2nd 100-plus opening partnership in IPL 2021. Both comfortably put the game away from KKR’s reach.


Skipper Rishabh Pant gave the finishing touch to the game. He scored 16 off 8 deliveries. It was Pat Cummins who gave KKR something to cheer about, he picked all 3 wickets that fell on Thursday in the Delhi Capitals’ innings.

Once again, Eoin Morgan’s decisions came under the scanner as he held back the main bowler Cummins until the 6th over. By the time Cummins came into the attack, DC had reached 66 for 0 in 5 overs, setting a comfortable winning stage for the side.

Kolkata restricted to 154- KKR vs DC

Earlier in the day, KKR scored 154 for 6 batting first. Openers Nitish Rana and Rahul Tripathi failed at the top. It was Shubman Gill who stood at the crease for some time. However, the pace at which he scored put pressure on the rest of the players to come. Eoin Morgan departed on a 2-ball duck.

Lalit Yadav replaced Amit Mishra in the playing XI for DC on Thursday. He delivered big as he picked up the wickets of Morgan and Sunil Narine (0) in the same over.

In the end, it was Andre Russell who helped KKR reach a decent total of 154 (43 not out from 27 balls).
