The IPL 2023 CSK vs LSG match witnessed a special moment as the legendary Indian cricketer and CSK skipper MS Dhoni was felicitated by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) vice-president Rajeev Shukla at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. It was Dhoni’s first-ever match at the venue, and he received a warm welcome from the fans and officials.

Despite the rain interruption, the match saw a valiant performance by young batter Ayush Badoni, who scored a fighting half-century to guide a struggling LSG to a total of 125/7 in 19.2 overs. The match was eventually called off due to rain, and both teams were awarded a point each.

With five wins, four losses, and one match that produced no result, LSG is in second place in the IPL 2023 table with a total of 11 points. CSK, with a similar win-loss record and 11 points, is trailing in the table due to LSG’s superior net-run-rate.

Overall, the felicitation of MS Dhoni ahead of the match added a special touch to the game, and fans are eagerly waiting for more exciting matches in the IPL 2023 season.

MS Dhoni’s Cryptic Response to Retirement Query

During the toss for Chennai Super Kings’ match against Lucknow Super Giants on Wednesday afternoon, the CSK icon, MS Dhoni, sparked a frenzy on social media with his cryptic response to a question.

Danny Morrison asked MS Dhoni about the overwhelming support he receives in his final IPL season (before retirement),

“Clearly, This wonderful swansong tour, your last. How are you enjoying it?”

To which, Dhoni replied,

“You’ve decided it is my last.”

This question has been asked frequently since Dhoni’s retirement from international cricket in 2020. Due to the pandemic, CSK was unable to play home games in Chennai for three seasons, and Dhoni had previously stated that he didn’t want to retire without saying goodbye to Chennai fans at Chepauk.
