India will be represented by an eight-member contingent in athletics, four in triathlon, and six athletes each in swimming and cycling. The country’s participation will ensure equal representation for both men’s and women’s events in each discipline. However, India will not be competing in beach volleyball, netball fast 5, and rugby sevens.

Leading India’s athletics contingent will be Bapi Hansda, who achieved a historic feat by securing a silver medal in the men’s 400m hurdles at the Asian Youth Athletics Championships in April. Additionally, Asian Youth Athletics Championships 2023 medallists such as Abhay Singh (men’s 200m), Arjun (men’s javelin throw), and Anupriya (women’s shot put) will also be part of India’s eight-member athletics squad for Trinbago 2023.

Notably, India’s swimming squad will feature Vedaant Madhavan, as well as swimming national record holders Hashika Ramachandra (women’s medley) and Palak Joshi (women’s backstroke), among other talented athletes.
