Demonstrating their prowess, the pair of Treesa and Gayatri, ranked 19th in the world, completed the match in a duration of 38 minutes. In the upcoming round, the Indian duo is set to take on the top-seeded pair, Chen Qing Chen and Jia Yi Fan.

Treesa and Gayatri, the recipients of a Commonwealth Games bronze, initially faced a 2-5 deficit. However, they swiftly adopted a strategy of strategic strike rotation and prolonging the rallies. This approach lured mistakes from their adversaries, leading to a reversal in their favor as they reached a score of 8-6. By the mid-game break, the Indian pair had managed to take the lead at 11-9.
