Star Indian Badminton duo, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, and Chirag Shetty reached a career-best rank of world number five. On the other hand, HS Prannoy reclaimed his place in the top 10 in men’s singles in the BWF world rankings issued on Tuesday.
The pair of Satwik and Chirag have produced some brilliant performances this year with two world tour titles at Indian Open Super 500 and French Open Super 750. They also clinched their maiden gold at the CWG in Birmingham and a bronze at the World Championships.
Their accomplishments are reflected in the BWF ranking as the pair jumped two places to the top five with 75,806 rating points from 15 tournaments.

H S Prannoy also showed improvement in BWF ranking and broke into the top 10, taking the world number 9 spot after starting the year at world number 26. This 30-year-old player from Kerala first cracked the elite bracket in 2016. He also ushered the Indian team to a historic Thomas Cup win in Bangkok.

CWG champion Lakshya Sen remains at number seven while former world no. 1 Kidambi Srikanth is positioned in 11th place. Indian Badminton Star, PV Sindhu continued to hold on to the number 6 position in women’s singles. In women’s doubles, Gayatri Gopichand and Treesa Jolly climbed two places to world number 18.
