The Proud Family

“I always wanted my son to play cricket. We even had options of playing him from Delhi as the distance from Meerut to Delhi is very less. However many youngsters play well from Delhi and somehow I thought that my child would get lost from there. So I wanted my son to play from UP,” said the proud father to crictracker.com.
Early Life
Kumar took his first step into the cricketing world by joining Sanjay Rastogi’s academy.
When he joined my academy, he had brilliant foot work enquired about his batting. He was a different person as he used to give equal time to both batting and bowling altogether. During the early years when we had barren grounds he used to practice with wet balls which hugely improved his game,” Sanjoy Rastogi was quoted by Xtratime.in.
Kumar represented Central Zone in Duleep Trophy and plays for Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket. The 2008-09 season of Ranji Trophy will always be special for Kumar. In the final of the tournament, Kumar became the first bowler to dismiss Sachin Tendulkar for a duck in first-class cricket.

A very hot and sunny day in Dubai! Yet another rewarding day at work! #TeamIndia #BleedBlue
After a promising start, there was a period of lull for the talented bowler. He received a lot of criticism and many people assumed that Kumar had lost his focus. During this difficult period, the support of the national bowling coach Bharat Arun was pivotal for Kumar.
“He [Arun] is somebody who manages bowlers really well. At this level you don’t want to get too much into the technique. He sometimes pinpoints certain things which can really improve your bowling,” For example, I increased my pace but I lost my swing. I did not know how to go about it. So he shared some fine points that helped me get my swing back. His role in the team is invaluable.”
When you have a team like this, you never lose.Thank you for the Memories Dubai. Enjoyed every single moment.
