Kohli and Gambhir also had verbal battle ten years ago, in IPL 2013. In KKR vs RCB match, Lakshmipathy Balaji bowled Kohli out for 35. The batsman who was dismissed seemed to find some of the KKR fielder’s banter offensive and struck up a discussion with them. When Gambhir, the captain of Kolkata, charged at Kohli, the situation grew even more tense. It was then a verbal battle. Rajat Bhatia, a KKR outfielder, and one of the on-field umpires then stepped in, and Kohli ultimately left in anger.

It happened during the fifth season of the IPL in 2012. At Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, the Chennai Super Kings faced the Mumbai Indians in an elimination match. Dwayne Bravo was bowling the 18th over, with Kieron Pollard on strike. Bravo would strike out a bouncer. Pollard attempted to cross the fence, but his timing was off, and the ball flew to the long-on zone, where Suresh Raina easily collected the catch. Bravo was overjoyed and decided to have some fun with the dismissal of the batter. He sent Pollard off with a message that their campaign was done and it was time to fly home. Though Pollard did not react to the celebration, the sendoff did not go well with cricket fans or Mumbai Indians fans. It was a strange IPL fight but gained popularity because it featured two of the greatest T20 stars.

It occurred during the 12th season of the IPL in 2019. The 25th match of the season was played at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur between the Chennai Super Kings and the Rajasthan Royals. The Chennai Super Kings bowled well, limiting the Rajasthan Royals to 151 runs. The low score seemed to be an issue for the Chennai Super Kings, who were immediately down to 24/4. In the final over, the score was reduced to 18. MS Dhoni, who well on 58, was dismissed when the equation was reduced to 8 from 3.

Mitchell Santner (the new striker) bowled and end up getting two runs for it. However, the beamer sparked debate. A waist-high ball would usually be judged by the leg umpire. In this situation, however, the primary umpire indicated no ball while the leg umpire did not. MS Dhoni stormed out of the dugout, enraged, and protest the umpire’s judgment. It wasn’t the best thing for a captain to do. The fact that a team’s captain was participating in such an act infuriated a specific segment of cricket fans.
