The Indian team for the 2023 Asia Cup has come together in Bengaluru for a training camp. The players have received verbal instructions from BCCI to refrain from sharing any sensitive information on social media, especially after Virat Kohli posted his Yo-Yo score on Instagram last Thursday.
The camp’s inaugural day witnessed the participation of not only Kohli but also other prominent Indian players such as captain Rohit Sharma and all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who underwent the rigorous fitness assessment.
Nonetheless, Kohli’s disclosure of his score has been met with disapproval from high-ranking BCCI personnel, as it is allegedly viewed as a violation of the contractual agreement.
According to a statement from a BCCI representative reported by The Indian Express on Friday,
“Players have been informed verbally to avoid posting any confidential matter on social media platforms. They can post pictures while training but posting a score leads to breach of contract clause.”
Conveying his joy over successfully clearing the exam, Kohli posted a self-portrait and accompanied it with a caption,
“The happiness of finishing the Yo Yo test between the dreaded cones. 17.2 done”
As per the report, Indian cricket players who were not selected for the T20I series against Ireland were provided with a customized 13-day fitness regimen. This program was specifically crafted to maintain their optimal physical condition and prevent injuries, as they prepare for the upcoming Asia Cup and ODI World Cup.
