Over the years, India has consistently produced some high-quality batsmen who have conquered the world of Cricket. They’ve also helped Bat sponsors become wealthy by emblazoning their logos on their bats, which aids in the promotion. Brands have paid players large sums of money to display their logo on the bat, and here are some of the best bat sponsors in India.

One of the most recognizable bat sponsors, and a special mention goes to the world-class players who wear the sticker. Previously, only Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, and Steve Waugh had sponsor labels on their bats. Virat Kohli has the largest bat sponsorship deal in the history of cricket. MRF tyres, India’s biggest tyre manufacturer, pays him 12.5 crores per year for an eight-year total of 100 crores. This cricket bat sponsors include Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan.

SS is known for creating quality cricket equipment and is one of the best cricket bat companies. Sareen Sports, headquartered in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, is one of the leading companies in India. The company is abbreviated as SS. SS saw an opportunity to sponsor some of India’s greatest batsmen. They are still very famous in India due to the high quality of their bats and some excellent marketing. VVS Laxman and Shikhar Dhawan have both used SS bats in the past.

Most of the young Indian cricketers’ bats were sponsored by Reebok, and some of them served as brand ambassadors also. Most flamboyantly, MS Dhoni was a Reebok athlete. Dhoni and even Gambhir were two of the popular players whose bats were emblazoned with RBK or Reebok. Before they stepped out, Uthappa, Rohit Sharma, and Yuvraj were all sponsored by this luxury brand.

CEAT Tyres is a flagship company of the RPG group and one of India’s largest tyre manufacturers. CEAT’s marketing strategies have been ingenious over the years, as evidenced by their advertisements. CEAT recently extended Rohit Sharma’s bat sponsorship contract for three years in October 2018. Ajinkya Rahane, and couple of young players like Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan, and the strong women’s team batter Harmanpreet Kaur are among the other players who have bat sponsorship deals with CEAT.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni will always be remembered as one of India’s greatest cricketers; his leadership abilities and self-belief have revolutionized Indian cricket. Spartan, an Australian company, signed a three-year contract worth 13 crores to appear on MS Dhoni’s bat while he hits sixes with his helicopter shots and wins games for his team. Brands are usually crazy for the former Indian captain and there have been many who sponsored his bat.

Puma

You might remember Yuvraj with this one. As we all know, Puma is one of the biggest brands around the globe. It has also made its name in cricket bat sponsorship as well as in cricket shoes. Yuvraj Singh is regarded as one of India’s greatest cricket legends, having played a key role in India’s 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup victory. In 2011, he signed a four-year contract with PUMA, the world’s leading sportswear, equipment, and accessories manufacturer.

Hero Honda

This brand doesn’t exist anymore with this name but during the glory days, it was considered as one of the biggest companies to give the cricket bat sponsorship. Hero Honda was a joint venture between Hero and Honda, which was dissolved in 2010 and renamed as Hero MotoCorp. One time, Sehwag had not renewed his contract with Britannia, Hero Honda took advantage of the situation and signed both him and Ganguly. Hero Hondo also sponsored Yuvraj Singh’s bat even when he smashed six sixes.

Britannia

Britannia is a household name in India due to its food products. The company had managed to entice some of the Indian legends to have its logo emblazoned on their bats. At its peak, the organisation had the likes of Sehwag, Laxman, and Dravid playing with their names on their willows. Mohammad Kaif was also associated with Britannia, but they did stop endorsing the game, bringing an end to an era. Although Britannia has not sponsored bats in a long time, it is regarded as one of the forerunners of this novel concept.
