Indian women wrestlers shine at the U-17 Asian Wrestling Championships 2023 in Bishkek, Kazakhstan, securing team victory with seven gold, one silver, and one bronze medal. Rising stars Parveen, Neha, Siksha, and Kajal brought glory to India by securing gold medals on Day 3 of the Championships. The Indian women’s wrestling team dominated the tournament, claiming the team title with an impressive haul of seven gold, one silver, and one bronze medal.

India’s medal tally soared to 17 on Day 3, following their earlier success in the event. In the U-17 category, Parveen triumphed in the women’s wrestling 43kg weight category, while Neha, a Khelo India star, secured gold in the women’s 57kg division. Kajal clinched the third gold in the women’s 73kg weight category, while Shiksha, another Khelo India athlete, showcased her prowess by winning gold in the women’s wrestling 65kg.

The Sports Authority of India (SAI) proudly shared the achievements of these talented wrestlers via Twitter.

Notably, Saurabh earned a silver medal in the freestyle 80kg weight category, while Narendar, also from Khelo India, claimed a bronze in the 71kg freestyle division. Sourabh added another bronze medal in the men’s freestyle 65kg category.

The U-23 Asian Wrestling Championship is set to commence on June 15 at the same venue, with India fielding a strong contingent of 60 wrestlers across both competitions. The nation’s wrestling future appears bright with such impressive performances at the international stage.
