In the ongoing Asian Games, Hangzhou, Parul Chaudhary achieved a remarkable feat by securing the second position and winning a silver medal in the women’s 3000m steeplechase event. Priti also displayed an outstanding performance, clinching the third spot and earning a bronze medal. This achievement was even more remarkable as it shattered the previous Games record held by Jebet Ruth, who had set a record of 9:31.36 seconds during the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea.

Parul, despite surpassing the Asian Games record, fell considerably short of her exceptional national record and personal best time of 9:15.31 set at the World Championships in Budapest, a crucial achievement that secured her qualification for the Paris Olympics.

Priti, Parul’s compatriot, finished a commendable 16 seconds after Parul. She achieved a personal best time of 9:43.32 seconds, clinching the bronze in a closely contested race with Bahrain’s Mekonen Tigest Getent, who secured fourth place with a timing of 9:43.71 seconds.
