A standout moment was when Neeraj Chopra, an Olympic and world champion, successfully defended his Asiad javelin title with an astounding throw of 88.88m. Athletics emerged as the top-performing discipline, contributing to the highest number of medals won with a total of 29.

Indian shooting outperformed its previous record of 14 medals set in Doha 2006, securing a total of 22 medals in China. Both the men’s and women’s cricket and kabaddi teams showcased exceptional prowess by claiming gold medals in their respective categories.
