Asian Games 2023: Indian Esports Team

India’s Esports scene has been witnessing remarkable growth day by day. The Indian Esports Team will now represent India in the 19th Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China.

The Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Organizing Committee (AINAGOC) has made an official announcement, declaring Esports as a medal sport in the upcoming 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026. This marks a significant milestone for Esports, as it will make its official debut as a recognized medal sport during the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games.

Seven games are set to feature in this event: Arena of Valor Asian Games Version, Dota 2, Dream Three Kingdoms 2, FIFA Online 4, League of Legends, PUBG Mobile Asian Games Version and Street Fighter V: Champion Edition. However, the Indian team will only compete in four of them.

India has thus named a 15-member esports team which is set to compete at the Asian Games 2023, scheduled to be held in Hangzhou. The Indian Esports team is set to participate in four distinct games of Hangzhou Games, namely DOTA 2, FIFA 22, Street Fighter V, and League of Legends, with competitions scheduled from September 23 to October 8.

The Indian esports team is one of the most diverse in the world, with players from all over the country. The team is also one of the most talented, with players who have been competing at the highest level for several years.
