The announcement of the Asia Cup 2023 Schedule has encountered yet another obstacle. While Zaka Ashraf and Jay Shah met under the green flag in Durban, the two panels will again meet for discussions on Sunday in Dubai. Originally planned for Friday, the schedule announcement will be rescheduled to an earlier date.
Senior officials of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) are going to talk with ACC officials in Dubai on Sunday and Monday to finalize the ACC 2023 Asia Cup’s itinerary and other arrangements.
The officials stated,
“To start with, the ACC just agreed to hold one Asia Cup match (Pakistan vs Nepal) in Pakistan but following a series of discussion between former Management Committee chairman Najam Sethi and ACC officials it was decided that Pakistan would host three matches and then a fourth was added.”
The PCB official went on to suggest that weighing the financial effects was more important than deciding whether or not matches would be conducted in Sri Lanka.
Even though Sethi was leading the PCB Panel, Pakistan was negotiating with ACC officials to guarantee that they would be paid an amount comparable to what India received for organizing the Asia Cup in the UAE last year.
