The highly anticipated India vs Pakistan showdown dates for the 2023 Asia Cup have been set, as per the sources. The next Asia Cup is set to include two matches between the two nations. Both India vs. Pakistan games are anticipated to be played in Sri Lanka, either at Dambulla or Kandy. If both teams continue, the India-Pakistan matchup might occur a third time in the postseason and for the fourth time in the Asia Cup final.

On August 30 or 31, at Multan, Pakistan will play Nepal in their first group match. The tournament’s inaugural event will be in Multan on the same day. Lahore will be used as yet another venue for Pakistani Asia Cup games. In anticipation of the 2023 World Cup, flight costs have increased by six times.

If the suggested schedule is approved, the Pakistani team would leave for Sri Lanka right after their first game against Nepal. After finishing their group matches in Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan will travel to Sri Lanka to finish the tournament.

According to the hybrid schedule suggested by the previous PCB executive committee, headed by Najam Sethi, the tournament would take place from August 31 to September 17.

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) finally embraced the hybrid format in spite of a number of challenges. According to this authorized acceptance, the event will begin with four matches in Pakistan. And then move to Sri Lanka for nine matches, including the championship match.

The PCB executive committee’s chief Zaka Ashraf initially voiced strong opposition to the hybrid idea for the Asia Cup 2023. The board would honor its promise to the ACC and its members, he subsequently said, by forging through with the “hybrid model” for the Asia Cup. Ashraf said that PCB will uphold the choice made by the previous administration, notwithstanding his partial acceptance of this idea.

Ashraf looked into the possibility of increasing the number of Asia Cup matches played in Pakistan. The Asian Cricket Council has announced that Pakistan will now host four Asia Cup games.
