Team India pacer Arshdeep Singh bowled five no-balls and conceded 37 runs in the two overs he bowled in the 2nd T20I between India and Sri Lanka on Thursday.
Arshdeep Singh did not have an ideal start this year. He overstepped 3 times in a row in the second over of the innings against Sri Lanka. After doing this, he becomes the first Indian bowler to bowl a hat-trick of no-balls in T20Is.
The speedster, Arshdeep created the record for bowling the most number of no-balls by an Indian bowler in a T20I match. In T20I cricket, Arshdeep took his tally of no-balls to 14.
Commentator & former Indian cricketer, Gautam Gambhir slams Arshdeep Singh after his five no-balls against Sri Lanka. He said,
“Imagine seven balls, it’s like bowling more than 21 overs. Everyone bowls bad balls or plays bad shots but it’s about the rhythm. If you are coming after an injury, you should not be playing an international game.
After Hamish Rutherford, Arshdeep has now become 2nd bowler from a full-member nation of ICC to bowl 5 no-balls in a T20I.
