The growth and recognition of Indian archer’s being seen in para sports. Sheetal devi, a 17-year-old para-archer not only won silver at the world para championships but also was named the female para-archer of the year as well as the sportswoman of the year by TOISA. Rakesh Kumar, India’s first gold medalist in World Archery Para Championships was named male para-archer of the year. Ojas Deotale, Jyothi Vennam and Aditi Swami were awarded with ‘archer of the year’ while Aditi Swami became the youngest World Archery Champion ever. These accolades illustrate that not only do Indian archers perform brilliantly on international stages, but they also receive reputable national awards indicative of a fast-progressing sport and diligent athletes.
