At the Major Dhyanchand National Stadium in New Delhi, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Anurag Thakur, unveiled the prestigious trophy for the Hero Asian Champions Trophy, Chennai 2023. On this occasion, Union Minister also unveiled the ‘Pass the Ball Trophy Tour’ campaign.
Beginning on August 3rd, 2023, the Hero Asian Champions Trophy in Chennai will feature competition for the title amongst India, Korea, Malaysia, Japan, Pakistan, and China. Anurag Singh Thakur stated that the trophy tour is crucial. It inspires young athletes to view the trophy and nurture aspirations of playing for team India in the future. He added, “India will make history,” if the fourth time India wins the Asian Champions trophy.
He continued by saying that Chennai would be an excellent host. And the administration upholds the principles of cooperative and competitive federalism, which also apply to sports.
Anurag Thakur claimed that in this competition, the best squad must win and the finest talent should be showcased. Additionally, he sent his warmest wishes to Hockey India and all other participants in the 2023 Asian Champions Trophy.
The trophy will tour many Indian cities, including Delhi, Chandigarh, Guwahati, Patna, Bhubaneswar, Ranchi, Bangalore, Trivandrum, and the host city Chennai, before stopping by several Tamil Nadu regions. The ‘Pass the Ball Trophy Tour’ campaign seeks to establish an exciting environment that will spark hockey fans’ interest and increase enthusiasm for the Indian Men’s Hockey Squad.
The Asian Champions Trophy is created by renowned trophy maker Sanjay Sharma. The Trophy is precisely constructed from a beautiful alloy of brass, aluminum, and copper. Then it has been plated by nickel and gold. The crown’s magnificent design and each crystal were crafted specifically for the coveted prize, giving it a one-of-a-kind flair.

It will take place from August 3 to August 12 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It will be broadcast live on Star Sports and Disney+Hotstar in India.
