Antim Panghal, the Indian wrestler, achieved a remarkable feat on Friday as she became the first-ever Indian to win back-to-back U20 World Championship titles. She clinched victory in the 53 kg category final by triumphing over Ukraine’s Maria Yefremova with a score of 4-0.
Another noteworthy victory came from Savita in the 62 kg category, as she claimed the gold medal by defeating Astrid Paola Montero Chirinos from Venezuela in the final bout. Notably, the Indian women’s team made history by clinching the team title at a world championship for the very first time. Their impressive performance resulted in a total of seven medals, comprising three gold, one silver, and three bronze medals.

On Thursday, Priya Malik emerged as the champion in the 76 kg category. Securing the second position, Antim Kundu earned a silver medal in the 65 kg division. Additionally, bronze medals were clinched by Reena (57 kg), Arjun (68 kg), and Harshita (72 kg).
Antim demonstrated unwavering dominance throughout the tournament, allowing a mere two points to her opponents and securing victories with absolute control.
