“Collaborating with the Subroto Cup is another decision to further strengthen our youth football structure and that way, our schools will be much more integrated into the competitive football structure in India. This collaboration between the Subroto Mukherjee Sports Education Society and the AIFF will bring a lot of positive changes in the organisation and overall impact of the Subroto Cup, which will make a big change in the youth football ecosystem in the larger scheme of things.”

The Selection Committee will identify top players, granting them the honor of joining the Subroto XI teams in their respective categories. Incentivizing young talent, the Selection Committee will handpick 25 players each from the U-17 Boys and Girls categories, presenting them with a one-time cash scholarship of Rs 25,000/- per player. Likewise, the Sub-Junior (U-14) category awardees will receive Rs 15,000/- each.

Eager to nurture potential, the AIFF will assess the scouted players from the Subroto Cup using an IT-assisted Talent Development Scheme, extending invitations for National Team training camps in their respective age categories. The AIFF will also notify ISL, I-League, and IWL clubs to send their scouts once the Subroto Cup match schedule is confirmed.

Furthermore, the AIFF pledges support to SMSES in implementing the TW3 method for age detection of Subroto Cup players from the 2023-24 season onward. The MoU also outlines dedicated coach education programs for the Final Round teams’ coaches, identifying D License coaches for upskilling to the AIFF C License.
