National Shooting Championships: Abhinav Choudhary Bags 25m Men’s Rapid-Fire Title

Abhinav Choudhary from Rajasthan secured the men’s 25m rapid-fire pistol championship title at the National Shooting Championship on Sunday. In the final, Abhinav achieved a score of 30, surpassing Ankur Goel from Uttar Pradesh, who concluded with 26 hits. Arpit Goel from Delhi claimed the third position with a score of 21 at the MP State Shooting Academy range. Abhinav had previously qualified for the top-six final round with an impressive score of 584 in the qualification, which also stood as the highest score. In the junior men’s rapid-fire pistol category, Vijayveer Sidhu won the gold medal by scoring 28 hits in the final, outperforming Anish Bhanwala, the Paris Olympic quota winner from Haryana, who secured 25 hits.

Punjab secured both the gold and bronze medals in the competition, with Rajkanwar Singh Sandhu claiming the third spot on the podium by shooting a score of 20. Meanwhile, Anish (578) led the team to victory in the men’s RFP event, collaborating with Sameer (578) and Adarsh Singh (571) to achieve a combined score of 1727. Additionally, Vijayveer, alongside Rajkanwar and his twin brother Udhayveer, clinched the junior team gold.
