He pointed out that they focused on negative aspects when RCB was bowling, constantly mentioning how the bowlers were stumbling and causing the team to lose ground. “What if it was just an extraordinary batting pitch?” he challenged the commentators, asking them to consider that angle instead. He felt that these one-sided views showed a lack of depth in their analysis and a tendency to take the easy road when offering criticism.
De Villiers also highlighted how Rishabh Pant’s performance should have been a strong indicator of the match&#8217;s context. Until this game, Pant had only scored one fifty, yet he appeared completely comfortable at the crease. “You don’t hit 118 off 61 balls on a challenging pitch,” he remarked.
