With IPL 2019 action gaining momentum, the excitement for the annual winners of honourable- orange and purple caps, is also increasing.
IPL gives an excessive spotlight to bowlers for it is an opportunity for them to show their talents. Teams like Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians have a great bowling lineup and have been performing consistently.
To honour the talented bowlers and increase their motivation, an award called ‘the Purple Cap’ was introduced. The purple cap is presented to that bowler who takes the maximum number of wickets in the season.
Let’s have a look at the possible purple cap winners in IPL 2019:
5Umesh Yadav (Royal Challengers Bangalore)
A right-arm fast-medium bowler, Umesh Yadav is an Indian cricketer. In IPL 2018, he proved to be the best bowler of his team Royal Challengers Bangalore. Also, he was marked as one of the top bowlers from India in Test Cricket last year.
This year, his performance seems to be more polished and growing better.
Being aware of the fact that his team never won the IPL, Umesh is expected to be at his best form during the matches this season. Probably, that is why he is an expected pick for the winner of the purple cap as the season ends.
