Bahrain becomes the destination for the 4th Asian Youth Para Games 2021

In the fourth edition of the Asian Youth Para Games, approximately 750 Para athletes’ from 30 different will compete in nine sports. The event will kick start from 2nd December 2021 to 6th December 2021. Bahrain is chosen as the destination to host one of the biggest Para sporting events.

A total of nine sports will be played over the span of five days. The final presentation of the game is already underway. The opening ceremony will begin today at the Bahrain International Circuit where the Formula 1 Grand Prix takes place.

Iran and Thailand have the biggest delegation which includes over 100 athletes with an aim to reach the summit of the medal chart. As the NPC Iran, President Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa said:

“Definitely we are looking to top the medal chart.”  

The newest NPC’s Maldives and Bhutan have arrived with their small delegation which consists of one female athlete for each country. Bangladesh has also arrived with a small contingent that will observe the game. The previous edition of the game was won by Japan while Iran and China followed with second and third place respectively.

On the opening day, three sports will be played which are boccia, goalball, and wheelchair basketball. These games will kick off at the Isa Sports Stadium.
